About me

I am a priest incardinated in the diocese of Rome, though I am originally from the United States. I am currently a chaplain at Roma Tre University. I am also a self-taught programmer. Interests are philosophy, theology, computer programming (php, javascript, html, css, java, vba, google apps script, c++), electronics (arduino and embedded development), languages, and life in general!

I have created the BibleGet I/O project which is in constant development.

Why "Sal et Humus"?
Sal(lat.) = "common salt, table salt, also known as sodium chloride". Salt gives flavor (sapor in latin, from which savoury). Salt -> flavor (to savour - lat. sapere) -> wisdom (lat. sapientia). There can be friendship, says Aristotle in Nicomachean Ethics book VIII, only after having consumed salt together.

Humus(lat.) = "is the fraction of soil organic matter that is amorphous and without the "cellular structure characteristic of plants, micro-organisms or animals." The importance of chemically stable humus is thought by some to be the fertility it provides to soils in both a physical and chemical sense. Humus allows soil organisms to feed and reproduce, and is often described as the "life-force" of the soil. Humus -> humid -> humble -> human -> humour (as in mood or disposition) -> humour (as in witty, facetious, humorous).
